How to clean WHITE SHOES with Toothpaste Vs Baking Soda?

Product care

Periodic cleaning will keep shoes looking (and smelling) their best. Here’s how to clean shoes without damaging them.

Well, We went on wikiHow and I took two methods and I apply them and I’m gonna let you know the results of them.

It’s just before using any method we want to take the laces of your shoes.

#1: Baking soda

Supplies

  • Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Hot Water
  • Toothbrush

So we start with this pair and then we go to the next pair, method number one, baking soda paste. For this method, we will need white vinegar, baking soda, hot water, and a toothbrush that we don’t use anymore.

Step 1: We mix 20 grams of baking soda, one tablespoon of hot water, we add one tablespoon of white vinegar.

Step 2: We are going to mix it and create a paste.

Step 3: We will spread the baking soda paste on the shoes surface all over.

Step 4: Once we’re done, let them dry for three to four hours indoors by a window with direct sand light.

Step 5: For the shoelaces, I left them in a container with baking soda solution for the same amount of time.

#2: White Toothpaste

Supplies

  • White toothpaste
  • Toothbrush

For this method we need a white toothpaste so it doesn’t stain our white shoes and a toothbrush.

Step 1: We went directly and we added the toothpaste on the surface of the shoes and I started brushing with the toothbrush, we wanna remove this stain, so brush as much as we can.

Step 2: Once all the surfaces are covered, let them dry for the same time as method one, so about 3 to 4 hours.

Step 3: For the shoelaces, we added toothpaste and let them on the side for the same amount of time as these shoes.

Step 4: Before that though, I used it as a soap and I washed them a little bit to remove the baking soda paste.

Step 5: Clap your shoes together, the paste would fall,

Step 6: For the remaining paste, we will need a dried toothbrush, keep brushing everywhere that it’s needed for the shoe laces.

Step 7: We wash them by hand and once we saw that the stain were not coming off, we rinse them. Let them dry overnight to remove the paste.

We got a wet cloth and I started washing off the paste. We will notice that the stains come off easily with the wet cloth. Once we finish rinsing the shoes and the laces, we let them dry overnight.

Between both methods, this is the one which took most of the stains out of our shoes fabrics.
